This is a paid freelance, remote position.

If you’re an experienced writer and CMS editor with a finger on the pulse of the entertainment industry, Collider wants you to join its award-winning team! Collider is the one-stop shop for TV and Movie content across the web. It is the internet’s first and final stop for breaking news, exclusive interviews, film commentary and reviews

Our editorial team is looking for contributors who can help us create the kind of original and informative Authority articles that our discerning audience demands. Collider operates at a rapid pace and is seeking writers who can write, produce, and sometimes conduct  high-quality interviews under time constraints. The selected candidate will have tremendous career growth and internal development opportunities within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Create a minimum of 5 articles per week in Collider’s house style (following the requisite training). This will include fact-checking, formatting, linking, and image sourcing/very basic editing (sizing, brightness, etc.)
  • Be able to participate in interviews when needed
  • Transcribe Authority interviews in a timely and well-structured manner
  • Accept and apply any/all feedback received by the editorial leads
  • Communicate openly and actively with the editorial team

 

Requirements

  • A passion for the content and a drive to grow within the industry
  • Previous writing experience (Editing experience is a plus)
  • Strong working knowledge of TV and Movie content and the entertainment industry as a whole
  • The ability to analyze content and pull directly from the source material to back up claims
  • A sharp eye for grammatical details
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Ability to write high-quality articles with swift turn-around times
  • Comfortable working in an entirely virtual environment
  • Strong working knowledge of old and current TV shows and Movies (streaming, network, new releases, and classics!)
  • Should possess a general understanding of the culture and strong research skill
